Bill Porter, President of Porter Law Group, specializes in Construction and Employment Law. Relevant Experience

With more than 35 years of experience in the legal profession, Bill’s practice focuses primarily on legal aspects of the building industry, including litigation of construction claims in State and Federal Court as well as through mediation and arbitration.  Bill regularly represents developers, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in complex multi-party construction litigation.  He lectures statewide on construction matters and regularly contributes to legislation on behalf of the construction industry, including chairing the Committee of California attorneys who revised all Construction Collection laws, effective 2012 (SB 189). AppliedLegal.com publishes many of Bill’s presentations on various aspects of construction law. Bill also serves as a mediator and arbitrator and was appointed as a Temporary Pro Tem Judge of El Dorado Superior Court in 2004.

Education

Bill earned his Law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where he received American Jurisprudence Awards in Land Use Planning and Administrative Law.  Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration on Marketing from the University of San Francisco.

Prior to college, Bill attended local Sacramento area schools, including Jesuit High School.
